Symbolic Beast and Fowl

Please go to " trees are nations" thread first
This is a short study to show you other symbolic names given to God's gentile people, the second creation or “ other trees”.

Eze 39:17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

This is a prophesy of Christ’s invitation to the gentiles for salvation.
So we can see that these beasts and these fowls of the air are acceptable to the Lord.
We know that Jesus came to invite the gentiles to salvation with His blood sacrifice on the cross. , so we know that that the fowl of the air and the beasts of the field are God's other creation.

This word feathered comes from the Hebrew word
H3671
kaw-nawf'
From ; an edge or extremity; specifically (of a bird or army)

So already this gives us a clue that it may not be referring to birds but possibly people.

How else do we know that they are people and not actual cows and chickens?
We have already established the Bible is very symbolic in it's language and that “ word” means “ logos” which we need to apply when reading the scriptures.
So logically I ask again, would the Lord tell Ezekiel to prophesy to a bunch of animals and birds?
The answer is no, of course not. The Lord would also not invite animals and fowl to accept His sacrifice on the cross and come to believe in Him.

Let's look further and see if this becomes clearer and if we can identify these beasts and fowl.

Ge 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air;

Let's start with the word “ form”
Where is the first time in the Bible this is mentioned ?

Ge 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

So these beasts and fowl were formed as Adam and man were.
Therefore they are “ man” and the same species.
We now know that man comes from the same word Adam and means to be red and ruddy, so they are of the Caucasian race as we know only they can be described as ruddy.

The Lord backs this up again when He says" They were formed out of the ground" which also comes from the same word as Adam and Man, which is " to be rubbed red, ruddy, to show blood through the skin( as in blush)"
This is a clear indication that these ruddy birds and beasts are symbolic for people, as actual animals have '" coats of skins " and not flesh which can blush.

Go to " the Bible's creations" thread for more insight into this description.

Let's back this up further and take a look at another scripture and scenario.

Ge 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Ge 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

So it seems Adam named all the animals as well as the people we now know who are referred to as the fowl of the air and the beasts of the field.
Look at the picture below depicting Adam looking for a help meet.

Mmmm, that would be very strange of God to offer Adam animals for a help meet, don't you think?
I have not found much evidence that ' cattle" are also people, except in the following passage when Ezekiel was told to prophesy against the shepherds of Israel.

EZE 34:17
And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.

The lord is referring to these cattle as flock( congregation), and tells them He will judge them as he will the goats. now I hardly think God has any interest in judging actual cattle just the same as He wouldn't want to offer animals as " help meet" to Adam.

Let's investigate some other symbolisms for people by looking the dream Peter had in
Acts 10:11
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Now Peter did not understand this dream at all, I am sure that he literally saw these creatures and not the symbolic meanings behind it.
Please note how Peter insisted that he would not partake of anything that was unclean or common. It was only later when peter went to Cornelius's house to minister unto him and his fellow gentile brothers, that the meaning behind his dream became clear.

ACTS 10:28
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath
shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Do you see the symbolic meaning of these creatures, God showed Peter that they were "man" and no longer common and unclean.
We know that is exactly what Christ came to do for the gentiles, He came to invite them unto salvation through His sacrifice on the cross. Now don't be confused by the word " fourfooted" as there is no greek translation for that word, but when looking at "beast" we get
Strong's Number: 4228
Original Word
1. a foot, both of men or beast 2. of disciples listening to their teacher's instruction are said to be at his feet

So according to the Greek translation, these beasts could also be people, and as it turns out they were listening to Peter, their teacher, preaching the gospel.

In the next scripture the Lord foretells the covenant He will later make with the gentiles using their symbolic names.

Ho 2:18
And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground:

Please note, the Lord uses the word " ground" again to save us from possible confusion to the identity of these people.

One last animal symbolism for the gentiles is the " fishes of the sea" Note how they are grouped together here with the other symbolic names of these men.

Eze 38:20
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence,

The Lord again confirms their identity in :

Hab 1:14
And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

And now we understand why Jesus told His disciples that they will be:
Mt 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow * me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Is it just me, or do you also find this so exciting ?
The Bible is written in such a poetic, informative way, it is almost like learning a new language.
It is perfect and so beautifully woven together, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Holy spirit is the divine author of this book. there is no possible way that man could have ever done something like this.
Even by reading a corrupted NIV version compared to the king James Bible, I notice the NIV has lost the poetry and almost romance of the original KJV. The more we discover the " Biblical language" the more we will fall in love with the Lord, as He speaks straight to our hearts.

BLESSINGS TO MY FELLOW BRETHREN IN CHRIST JESUS AND THE REVELATION OF HIS TRUTH

* NOTE There are many beasts in the Bible, and each has his own identity.
I stress this because if you do not understand this you will get confused later on.
The Bible is very specific with it's wording, so when you read about beasts and do not see “ of the field” DO NOT assume they are all man/ruddy or people, as I will show you in a later thread.
Some beasts are acceptable to God and some are just plain abominable to Him.
